Interesting post, I enjoyed it.

For me, stateside, text messaging has really helped just stay in contact with guys that i'm working with on a discipleship level and with friends whom sharpen each other. It's not always easy to drop what we're doing and make a 10-15 minute phone call, but it's easy to send a text and say "how's ____ working out for you?" or "hey, need any prayer?" Its true we can't get into deep conversations this way, but it helps us know a) that someone is thinking about us and praying for us, and b) gives us a chance to get something out in the open that we can talk about next time around.

Of course... one of your sons (*cough*jon*cough) still won't put a txt package on his cell phone, but oh well.

Interesting insights, Judy. Thanks for sharing them. I'm still making progress through the book. I hope others will blog their thoughts also.

good "re-production" post! I completely agree with the 4 support posts...i'm amazed at my profs who catch articles in various publications, know people who are writing about various topics, etc. it inspires me to always be reading/perusing the "topics of the day." how else can i engage a culture if i'm not aware of the hot topics?? and writing...yes, WRITE! it forces clarity, helps with conciseness, encourages wholeness in thought.

thanks for sharing

I found the articles at "Stuff Christians Like" a great example of the ability of the "crowd" to translate ideas into action.

I heard your message too late. Quicken Support confirmed it. The warning should have been more explicit. I've used Quicken for a decade +. The alternative is to just keep using Basic 2007 (I use it as a checkbook proxy) and go to my bank to download transaction informtion. Not too hard, but it don't seem right.
