Mango Sticky Rice

Mango sticky rice - Keith & Kay

Mango sticky rice

Kay and I had a taste of heaven today — mango sticky rice. This Thai delicacy is delicious. It’s normal rice or wild rice with some sweetened condensed milk added. Add Thai mango, which is fantastic. Cover it with a coconut milk sauce and enjoy!

Operations Directors conference

Ops Directors Group photosWe have finished our first conference in Thailand. There were two conferences. I participated in the Operations Directors conference.

I am always encouraged by meeting with our leaders from around the world. To hear their stories, to share meals together, to pray together at the foot of the throne — this is a foretaste of heaven!

Visiting at the conference

A major part of a good conference is the networking and relationship-building. That’s me on the far right of the photo. I’m visiting with Mike Schroeder of Donorware. We talked about everything from leadership to technology to trusting God in difficult circumstances.

The Internet Ministry Conference opened on Wednesday night to a full house.

Internet Ministry Conference

Internet Ministry Conference

Kay and I are in Grand Rapids, Michigan where this morning it was 57 degrees (farenheit). Great weather.

I’m participating in the Internet Ministry Conference. About 100 of us. I’m hanging out with the heroes of internet ministry, both heroes in Campus Crusade for Christ and heroes from many other excellent ministries.

This is the first leg of a long journey. Over the next 3 weeks:
13-18 September: Dallas meetings with ministries (and grandkids!)
19-21 September: Internet Ministry Conference (Grand Rapids)
22-28 September: Global Operations and HR leadership conferences (Thailand)
29 September-2 October: Southeast Asia IT Leaders training (Thailand)
3-6 October: Global ConneXion leaders training (India)
8-10 October: Global Technology Leaders meeting (India)
11-12 October: Global Measurements training (India)

Pray for us

Kay and I were recently asked for a prayer request for the next year. Here’s what we sent. We invite you to join in praying this for our lives this next year.

Personally, pray that we maintain our personal walks of faith, growing in the image of Jesus Christ, living out examples of risky faith, showing mercy and compassion to others.

In our ministries, pray that we lead well as we help develop next-generation leaders committed to building spiritual movements everywhere.

The good old days

I read something today that triggered end-of-summer thoughts about the good old days. Things most of us don’t hear much anymore…

Be sure and refill the ice trays, we are going to have company after while.

Watch for the postman, I want to get this letter in the mail today.

Quit slamming that screen door!

Pull the windows down when you leave, it looks like it might shower.

Bring in the clothes off the line if it starts to rain.

Don’t forget to wind the clock before you go to bed.

Don’t you go outside with your good school clothes on!

Take the empty bottles to the store with you so you won’t have to pay a deposit.

Put a dish towel over the cake so the flies won’t get on it.

Don’t slam the door! I have a cake in the oven and you are going to make it fall if you don’t quit!
